Trump administration exempts SpaceX's Starlink from FCC ban on foreign-made routers

The FCC exempted SpaceX’s Starlink routers from its expanded ban on consumer routers partly made outside the U.S., citing Department of Defense approval.

The waiver gives Starlink temporary relief and lets it keep selling routers through February 1, 2028.

The move could raise the bar for other networking companies, especially those with overseas manufacturing or Chinese ties, to win similar exemptions.
