Live-Action Link Actor Didn't Play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at Launch Because He Was Only Eight Years Old: 'I Was Watching Playthroughs'

Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who will play Link in Nintendo and Sony’s 2027 live-action Zelda film, said he was too young to play Breath of the Wild at launch.

He was eight at the time and did not own a Switch, so he got to know the game by watching playthrough videos instead.

His comments add context to how he approached preparing for Link through footage and game coverage rather than firsthand play.
