Perovskite is the “holy grail” of solar energy, but industrial manufacturing used to be a nightmare. This new technique changes everything at once

Researchers from KIT and the University of Valencia developed a solvent-free closed-space sublimation process for perovskite layers.

The method deposits uniform coatings in about 10 minutes, even on textured silicon surfaces used in industry.

Prototype perovskite-silicon tandem cells reached 24.3% efficiency, published in Nature Energy.

The advance could remove a major manufacturing bottleneck and make next-generation solar panels more scalable and cost-effective.
