Japan built robot wolves to thwart bear attacks, and they’re flying off the shelves

Japan’s wolf-shaped “Monster Wolf” robots are seeing surging demand as bear sightings and attacks rise.

Originally built by Hokkaido firm Ohta Seiki to scare deer and wild boars, the robots are now being placed near homes and other sites to deter bears.

The devices use lights, sounds, and infrared sensors to mimic a predator and frighten wildlife away.

Strong interest has led to long delivery times, turning a niche product into a practical public-safety tool.
