Gemini in Chrome becomes available in Japan, with “Summarize YouTube videos” and “Edit with Nano Banana 2” now available in the Chrome side panel

Google launched Gemini in Chrome in Japan on April 21, 2026.

Chrome’s side panel can now summarize YouTube videos, compare multiple tabs, and edit images with Nano Banana 2.

The feature had mostly been limited to the U.S. and is still not available on Chrome for iOS in Japan.

The rollout brings browser-integrated AI tools to Japanese users, speeding up everyday search, summary, and editing tasks.
