Volvo’s parent just revealed a $15,000 extended-range EV, and it shows how wide the US value gap has become

Geely unveiled the Boyue EREV in China at a limited-time price of 107,900 Yuan (about $14,900).

Depending on variant, it offers up to 375 km of CLTC electric range and up to 1,525 km of combined range.

The powertrain pairs a 1.5-liter range extender with a 160 kW electric motor.

Battery options are 28.3 kWh or 50.4 kWh LFP; the larger pack supports 3C fast charging and is said to reach 80% from 30% in about 15 minutes.

Interior tech includes a 14.6-inch central display, 8.8-inch instrument cluster, Flyme Auto and Carlink/Huawei HiCar; optional 16-speaker audio, HUD and L2 driver assistance; length 4,680 mm, wheelbase 2,778 mm; Geely is Volvo's parent and Reuters reported Geely’s broader importance to Volvo.
