Instagram’s new ‘Instants’ feature combines elements from Snapchat and BeReal

Instagram has launched Instants globally after a limited test, expanding a new disappearing-photo sharing feature.

Instants lets users take unedited photos in the app and share them with close friends or mutual followers.

Each photo disappears after one view, but stays in a private archive for up to a year.

The move highlights Instagram’s push toward more private, casual sharing as it competes with Snapchat, BeReal, and Locket.
