GPD Box Mini And G2 eGPU Ditch OCuLink For MCIO 8i, Pushing 512 Gbps To External RTX 4090 Setups

GPD unveiled the G2 eGPU enclosure and Box mini PC with MCIO 8i connectivity.

The company says MCIO 8i offers far more bandwidth than OCuLink, aiming for near-desktop eGPU performance.

A setup with an RTX 4090 is being positioned as much closer to a native desktop PCIe experience.

The report also cites TOPC’s TA255 mini PC, which uses the same interface at PCIe Gen 4.0 x8.
