Legendary Nintendo Designer Takashi Tezuka Is Seemingly Retiring From The Company

Nintendo veteran Takashi Tezuka is retiring from his leadership role after more than 40 years at the company.

Tezuka joined Nintendo in 1984 and helped shape landmark Mario and Zelda games, including Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, and A Link to the Past.

He also joined Nintendo’s board in 2018 and most recently worked on newer releases like Super Mario Wonder and Princess Peach: Showtime!

His departure marks another significant leadership transition as Nintendo prepares for generational change.
