Google app for desktop launches on Windows

Google has launched a Windows desktop app for English users worldwide.

A floating search box opened with Alt+Space can search the web, Drive, local files, and installed apps.

The app also adds Google Lens, AI Mode, screen-sharing questions, and follow-up prompts for on-desktop AI help.

It is now available on Windows 10 and later without requiring a Labs signup.
