Humanoid robot smashes human half-marathon world record in Beijing race

An Honor-built humanoid robot finished a Beijing half marathon in 50:26, beating the human world record.

More than 100 robots raced alongside 12,000 people on separate tracks at the Beijing E-Town Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon.

Despite falls, collisions, and battery and overheating limits, autonomous robots outperformed many competitors.

The result highlights rapid progress in humanoid endurance, mobility, and autonomy with potential industrial uses.
