At the Ignition event NASA laid out spaceflight plans for the coming decade, emphasizing a Moon base, action over talk, and streamlining regulations with industry.

NASA leaders said they are not confident in the viability of a commercial marketplace for humans in low-Earth orbit, and the agency’s plan to work with private companies on independent space stations does not appear headed toward success.

Dave Cavossa, president of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, said the plan is sowing concern and confusion among the commercial space companies he represents.
