Farewell, Jeeves: Ask.com shuts down

Ask.com has shut down its search and Q&A service after 25 years, ending the former Ask Jeeves brand.

The site closed on May 1, 2026, as parent company IAC said it is narrowing its focus.

Ask Jeeves was an early conversational search product that foreshadowed today’s AI chatbots.
