eBay pays $46M to journalists it targeted in bizarre harassment campaign

eBay and several former executives agreed to pay about $55.7 million to settle a lawsuit over a 2019 cyberstalking and harassment campaign against journalists Ina and David Steiner of EcommerceBytes.

The deal includes $46.15 million from eBay, additional payments from former executives, and charitable commitments, with no confidentiality clause.

eBay also issued a public statement condemning the conduct, helping close a high-profile case tied to press freedom and First Amendment concerns.
