With the summer travel season halfway through, China’s railways have carried a cumulative 432 million passengers - IT之家

China’s rail network carried 432 million passengers from July 1 to 31 during the summer travel season.

Rail operators used the summer timetable and 12306 demand data to boost capacity with extra trains, coupled EMUs, and added cars on conventional services.

New lines and stations, including the Wuhan–Xi’an high-speed rail, Xi’an East Station, and Foshan Station, came into operation.

The surge in holiday travel is driving strong cross-region demand, and rail authorities are easing congestion through schedule optimization and capacity expansion.
