Jung Jeom-sik: “The ruling party’s forced passage of the Criminal Procedure Act is a historic bad law that will long remain in constitutional history”

People Power Party floor leader Jung Jeom-sik strongly condemned the Democratic Party's push to revise the Criminal Procedure Act.

He said abolishing prosecutors' supplementary investigation authority would be a serious abuse of law and weaken legal safeguards and the rule of law.

Jung also criticized a related move to shorten the review period for fast-track bills, calling it a rushed and improper legislative push.

He accused the ruling party of trying to protect President Lee Jae-myung from court proceedings.
