AMD working on new X3D V-cache mobile chip for gaming laptops, leaker claims — Ryzen 7 9800HX3D could launch with 8 cores, 16 threads, and 96MB cache

A leak says AMD is working on a new 3D V-Cache laptop chip, likely called Ryzen 7 9800HX3D.

The rumored CPU would use 8 cores, 16 threads, boost up to 5.1 GHz, and pack 96MB of cache.

It is said to enter mass production in late 2026, with a possible launch at CES 2027.

If real, it could give gaming laptops a cheaper X3D option versus AMD’s 16-core flagship models.
