New hypersonic drone engine passes 21 ignition tests to prove reusable design

AndroMach says its Envol hypersonic drone engine passed 21 successful ignitions at a French government test center.

The reusable rocket engine is being developed with support from DGA and CNES, alongside testing at DGA Essais de Missiles in Gironde.

The campaign validated the propulsion design and showed the engine can be reused after repeated firings.

The company is now moving closer to flight tests for a platform aimed at research, technology demos, and defense-related tracking uses.
