New Codex features include the ability to use your computer in the background

OpenAI has updated its Codex desktop app with background computer control, scheduled tasks, and an in-app browser.

On Mac, Codex can now run multiple agents in parallel and accept page-specific feedback inside the app.

The new version also adds image generation with gpt-image-1.5.

The update pushes Codex beyond coding help toward broader desktop automation and agent workflows.
