Paid users can access Veo 3.1 Lite via the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.

It offers the same generation speed as Veo 3.1 Fast while costing about half as much.

Designed for programmatic video generation and iterative prototyping; optimized for HD outputs (720p and 1080p); 4K is not supported.

Built on the DiT (Diffusion Transformer) architecture with a transformer backbone that processes spatio-temporal patches and computes in a compressed latent space; supports 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios and 4, 6, or 8 second clips.
