SpaceX's Starlink, Ahead of IPO, to Be Adopted by American Airlines

American Airlines will install SpaceX's Starlink on more than 500 short- and medium-haul aircraft, starting in Q1 2027.

The rollout covers aircraft such as the A321neo, while long-haul jets will keep using Viasat and Panasonic connections.

AAdvantage members will get the Starlink Wi-Fi service for free.

The deal strengthens Starlink's position in in-flight Wi-Fi and highlights SpaceX's pre-IPO growth.
