Balatro owner Playstack sold to parent company of Fandom, GameSpot

Integrated Media Company, parent of Fandom and GameSpot, will become the majority owner of Playstack in a £112.4 million deal.

Playstack’s current owner, Turin, agreed to sell its 84.5% stake to VantageCo, an Integrated Media Company subsidiary, subject to shareholder approval.

Playstack says its day-to-day operations and publishing plans will stay unchanged after the acquisition.

The deal puts the publisher behind Balatro under a larger media-and-gaming umbrella, highlighting continued consolidation in game publishing.
