Hokkaido sets up Japan's first 'Wildlife Damage Countermeasures Task Force' and aims to curb agricultural damage using ICT technology

Hokkaido launched Japan’s first prefectural wildlife damage task force and held its inaugural meeting in Sapporo.

The effort will focus on Ezo deer, which account for most agricultural damage in the region.

This fiscal year, Asahikawa, Furano, Kiyosato, Ikeda, and Ashoro were selected for priority support.

Over the next three years, the prefecture will strengthen countermeasures using ICT to curb farm losses.
