US company to expand its production plant to boost C-UAS interceptor output

The U.S. Department of War awarded AeroVironment $20.2 million to expand its Huntsville, Alabama facility.

The 24,000-square-foot expansion will make the site the integration and production center for the Freedom Eagle 1 interceptor.

The move follows a recent $95.9 million Army-related award and aims to scale up counter-UAS manufacturing.

The investment is meant to speed delivery of next-generation drone defenses as U.S. military demand rises.
