NASA undergoes restructuring to align with the US National Space Policy

NASA is overhauling its internal structure, cutting management layers and merging directorates to speed up decision-making.

The agency is redirecting resources toward Artemis, lunar surface systems, commercial low-Earth-orbit stations, and nuclear space technologies.

The shift is meant to align NASA with U.S. space policy and the current administration’s priorities, including human lunar return.

Older program structures and some science or legacy mission arrangements may lose relative emphasis as funding and authority are reshaped.
