Gemini’s restrictive usage limits are getting another overhaul

Google is revising Gemini’s compute-based quota system to make usage limits less punishing for complex prompts.

Failed requests will no longer count against quota, and users will get clearer usage breakdowns and alerts.

AI Ultra subscribers will get twice as many Omni video generations, while Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite prompts stay free.

The app will remember the last selected model as the default until the limit is reached.
