Huawei says it connected 170 million people in remote areas across 80+ countries, exceeding ITU P2C pledge

Huawei stated it provided digital connectivity to 170 million people in remote areas across more than 80 countries, huawei reported at its TECH Cares Forum in Barcelona.

Huawei pledge had committed to connect 120 million people in remote areas by 2025 pledge made when joining ITU P2C Digital Coalition in 2022.

Yang Chaobin said high-speed digital networks and robust computing capabilities are foundations for an inclusive AI era spoken in his opening speech at the forum.

Skills on Wheels has delivered mobile digital training to over 130,000 people in 21 countries since 2019 program launched in 2019 and reported participant counts.

RuralCow was introduced to extend coverage to villages of around 1,500 residents launched in November 2025 with support from MTN Nigeria.
