Google updates AI search to include expert advice from Reddit and other web forums

Google is updating AI-powered Search to surface perspectives from Reddit, forums, social media, and other firsthand public discussions.

Search links will now show more source context, such as creator names, handles, or community names, to make citations clearer.

The change is aimed at queries where human experience matters, like advice and niche questions.

But it also raises concerns about AI Overviews blending into normal results and about source quality, hallucinations, and reliability.
