This Smart Ring Tracks Glucose, Alcohol, and More Through Your Sweat

Researchers at UC San Diego built an experimental smart ring that continuously analyzes sweat from the finger.

The device uses an osmotic hydrogel and electrochemical sensors to measure up to four biomarkers at once.

It can track glucose, ketones, vitamin C, uric acid, lactate, and alcohol, and matched commercial devices closely in testing.

The prototype may bring molecular health data to wearables, helping with diabetes management and more informed lifestyle decisions.
