Northrop eyes 2027 orbital test of Golden Dome space-based missile interceptors

Northrop Grumman is teaming with Apex to develop space-based missile interceptors for the Golden Dome initiative.

The companies plan an on-orbit demonstration in 2027 and intend to compete for a U.S. Space Force program.

Northrop says it has already completed ground testing and is funding the work internally.

Apex will bring satellite bus manufacturing expertise that could support larger interceptor constellations.
