Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: The Best Update Isn’t What I Expected

Samsung has opened preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, starting at $2,100 and reaching $2,700 for the 1TB model.

The phone looks almost identical to the Z Fold 7, but adds a slightly easier hinge, a near crease-free inner display, and a newer Qualcomm chip.

It also brings a higher-resolution ultrawide camera, faster charging, and a larger silicon-carbon battery, though battery life barely improves.

The review says the device is excellent overall, but too similar to last year’s model for such a high price.

Samsung is now reserving the Z Fold 8 name for a separate wider, lower-priced foldable.
