The incubator launching Scotland’s next generation of tech: ‘We need to pull the bigger players into the Scottish market’ | Sifted

A Scottish incubator backed by the University of Edinburgh, Techscaler and CodeBase is helping academic researchers turn AI and deeptech ideas into startups.

Sifted says the five-month Venture Builder Incubator gives founders commercial skills, pitch practice and customer access, with examples like Ridescan AI and Amytis.

Techscaler has expanded the programme nationally, and participating companies have raised £58m since 2021.

The effort reflects Scotland’s push to turn university strength in AI and quantum research into more startups, jobs and investment.
