This app makes your MacBook moan when you slap it, and it's going viral

Amsterdam-based developer Tonino Catapano created SlapMac, a macOS app that turns light taps or smacks on a MacBook into sound effects.

The app offers nine collections with roughly 160 sounds and uses the laptop's motion sensors to detect impacts and scale volume by force.

It includes adjustable sensitivity levels, a break timer, and a built-in counter that tracks how many times the device has been hit.

An update introduced the 'USB Moaner' feature that makes the MacBook moan when something is plugged into its USB port, along with the timer and counter.

Catapano released SlapMac for $5; within three days it surpassed 7,000 installations and $5,000 in revenue, and the idea came from an Instagram clip of him slapping his MacBook.
