Twitch Has New Penalties For Streamers Caught Viewbotting, CEO Says

Twitch is rolling out tougher anti-viewbotting enforcement for channels it says repeatedly inflate audiences with bots.

Instead of only deleting fake accounts, Twitch will temporarily cap a flagged channel’s concurrent viewers based on its normal non-botted traffic.

Repeat offenders will face longer penalties, and Twitch says it is withholding some details to make evasion harder.

The move could reduce artificial audience inflation, but it also raises concerns about false positives and unfair hits to smaller creators.
