AMD Turns to Samsung for HBM4 Memory as Lisa Su Races to Match NVIDIA’s Rubin

AMD said it is close to finalizing an HBM4 memory supply deal with Samsung, building on an earlier priority-shipment agreement.

The deal could help secure critical high-bandwidth memory for AMD’s next-generation AI chips and ease supply constraints.

At the same event, AMD introduced its Helios AI rack platform for data centers and said it is moving toward production and shipments later this year.

The moves underscore AMD’s push to compete more directly with NVIDIA in AI accelerators and rack-scale systems.
