AMD keeps gaining on Intel in servers, but desktop PCs tell a different story

AMD hit a record 38.1% share of overall x86 CPU revenue in Q1 2026, led by strong gains in servers and mobile PCs.

Server momentum was especially strong: AMD reached 46.2% revenue share and 33.2% unit share, underscoring Epyc’s strength.

In clients, AMD held 29.6% unit share and 28.3% mobile unit share, showing continued progress in laptops.

Desktop was the weak spot, with AMD’s unit share slipping to 33.2% and revenue share falling to 37.6% quarter over quarter.
