YouTube Music rolls out split-view Now Playing redesign on Android, iOS

YouTube Music is broadly rolling out a split-view Now Playing redesign on Android and iOS.

The new player updates the layout, adds icon-based Song and Video tabs, and enlarges the cover art.

It also thickens the progress bar and moves the Up Next queue into a dual-pane view for easier access.

Common actions like lyrics and related content should take fewer taps, changing the core playback experience.
