China can't buy Nvidia's top chips. So Alibaba has decided to link its own chips together and sell them as if they were one

Alibaba unveiled the Zhenwu M890 AI chip and a three-year roadmap for more in-house chips and infrastructure.

It also introduced the ICN Switch, which can connect up to 128 GPUs so they act like one system.

Alibaba plans to invest 380 billion yuan over three years to expand AI infrastructure.

The move fits China’s push for domestic chips in state data centers and could further challenge Nvidia in the market.
