Claude Opus 5 is here, and Anthropic says it can rival Fable 5 in some tasks

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5 for coding, research, and other complex work.

The company says it performs far better than Opus 4.8 while keeping the same API price.

It can reportedly match or beat Fable 5 on some benchmarks at a much lower cost per task.

Claude Opus 5 is now the default model for Claude Max and the top option for Claude Pro.
