Unity 7 to release in 2027, helps devs "ship sharper graphics"

Unity announced Unity 7, a new editor and runtime planned for beta in December 2026 and launch in Q1 2027.

The update focuses on faster workflows, including shorter build and shader times, plus a smoother upgrade path from Unity 6.

Unity 7 will also expand collaboration with a more open model and public API access, alongside CoreCLR support.

Graphics improvements such as Surface Cache GI and neural upscaling aim to boost visual quality in games.
