Lucid Motors doesn’t know how many EVs it will build this year

Lucid Motors withdrew its 2026 production and sales guidance, abandoning its earlier target of 25,000 to 27,000 vehicles.

The move comes during a CEO transition, a broader business review, and layoffs that reduced staff by 12%.

A weak first quarter was hurt by a production disruption and a temporary stop-sale tied to a seat supplier issue.

Lucid says it will likely keep output controlled to reduce inventory, while still aiming to start Gravity SUV builds for its robotaxi plan this year and ramp a mid-size EV platform in 2027.
