Fire-stricken Dutch data center suffers delay to its recovery

NorthC says recovery at its fire-damaged Almere data center is delayed because a critical component for the temporary redundant power setup arrived late.

Power is now expected to be restored Wednesday, May 13 at noon, after the May 7 fire damaged the facility.

Customers will then be able to restart systems in stages, extending the outage for organizations using the site.

The incident highlights how a single infrastructure failure can disrupt many users and critical services, including institutions such as Utrecht University and the Chamber of Commerce.
