Feature: "A Huge Balancing Act" - Playtonic Spills The Beans On Yooka-Replaylee's Massive Switch 2 Update

Playtonic has added a new 60fps performance mode to Yooka-Replaylee on Switch 2 after months of optimisation work.

The mode reportedly runs smoothly in both docked and handheld play, with only minor visual trade-offs such as softer shadows and distant detail.

Software lead Simon Gerges said the game’s large, free-roaming worlds made higher frame rates especially challenging, and much of the tuning happened after launch.

The update should address a major complaint about the Switch 2 version and make the game feel noticeably smoother to play.
