Steam rejigs tags in a potential win for game visibility, and more importantly, capybaras

Valve overhauled Steam’s tag system, removing 28 tags, adding 17, and merging overlapping labels to improve discovery.

New tags include Bullet Heaven and Capybaras, while subjective or low-value labels like Cult Classic and Masterpiece were dropped.

The cleanup is meant to make browsing and search more useful by reducing vague, duplicate, or confusing tags.

Better tag taxonomy could help games surface more accurately and make it easier for players to find titles faster.
