Massive new Xbox Ally X update brings major changes to the Steam Deck's handheld rival

Microsoft has rolled out a major Xbox Ally X update focused on smoother docked play and better overall usability.

The update adds automatic dock switching, controller and display improvements, left-stick cursor navigation, and custom game links in the Xbox app.

It also brings Auto Super Resolution upscaling to external displays, along with audio, headset, haptics, and Bluetooth LE Audio improvements.

The changes make the Windows gaming handheld more compatible and easier to use, helping it compete with the Steam Deck OLED and other rivals.
