AWS and OpenAI expand partnership following end of Microsoft’s exclusivity

AWS and OpenAI are expanding their partnership to bring OpenAI models, Codex, and managed agents into Amazon Bedrock.

Enterprises will be able to use these tools within AWS security, compliance, and governance controls.

The move ends Microsoft’s former exclusivity and gives AWS customers direct access to OpenAI inside their existing cloud setup.

It intensifies competition in enterprise AI and strengthens AWS’s position against rivals like Microsoft, Oracle, and Anthropic.
