Enabling Claude Code to work more autonomously

Anthropic updated Claude Code with a beta native VS Code extension, a revamped terminal interface, and checkpointing for safer long-running coding tasks.

The tool now uses Claude Sonnet 4.5 as the default model, aiming to improve autonomous software development workflows.

Anthropic also renamed and expanded the Claude Agent SDK to better support subagents and hooks.

These changes move Claude Code beyond the terminal and make it more useful for complex IDE-based and custom agent setups.
