Tools for Humanity is shifting World ID in Japan from expanding verifiers to broadening everyday use through integrations with partners like Tinder and Zoom.

Masami Takahashi has been appointed Japan lead, and the next priorities are privacy protection, local partnerships, and verification methods for AI-agent transactions.

Unlike traditional ID systems such as the My Number Card, World ID aims to verify personhood and age without handing over personal information.

As use cases expand in Japan, World ID is positioned to become an online trust infrastructure for the AI era, including defense against deepfakes.
