Asus ROG Crosshair 2006 motherboard review: 20 years of ROG

Tom’s Hardware reviewed Asus’s $799.99 ROG Crosshair 2006, a limited-edition board celebrating 20 years of Republic of Gamers.

The motherboard revives the original 2006 ROG look but is built on the ROG Crosshair X870E Dark Hero platform.

It packs flagship features including five M.2 slots, dual USB4, 10GbE and 5GbE, Wi‑Fi 7, and strong power delivery.

Performance landed broadly in line with the Dark Hero, with solid gaming, productivity, and overclocking results.
