Gigabyte announces support for Chinese-made CXMT memory — pushes it to 8200 MT/s on Socket AM5

Gigabyte says its AM5 and Intel LGA 1851 motherboards now support CXMT-based DDR5 modules.

On select boards, memory speeds can reach up to 8200 MT/s, including a Lexar DIMM using CXMT chips.

Gigabyte demoed 8200 MT/s CL40 on a B850M FORCE board with low latency on a Ryzen 5 8600G.

The move suggests broader industry acceptance of CXMT, which could improve DDR5 supply and affect PC memory pricing.
